- NAIS – Report Time – 6:15 p.m. to the HS Band Room
- MS – Report time – 6:30 p.m. to the HS Choral Room
- HS – Report time – 6:30 p.m. to the HS Band Room
Appropriate dress is expected for the concert: dark pants or skirts on bottom, white, black, or colorful spring colors on the top for the concert. If girls decide to wear a dress or skirt, they must be mid-calf length – due to performing on stage.
Concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the HS Auditorium
- Fine tune any music for concert on Tuesday
- Rehearsal Monday after school until 3:45 p.m. or so
- In class this week, we will be working on rhythm exercises, shifting, scales, and collecting music
- We will also be working on sight reading
- On Tuesday, we will fine tune any music needs from rehearsal on Monday afternoon, in order for Tuesday evenings concert
- On Thursday, music from the concert will be collected, some new music will be handed out to 8th grade for “Night of Excellence”
- We will continue to work on music skills in class up until the end of school – we will be working on rhythms, counting, shifting skills on the instrument – through hands on activities
- We will also do some sight reading of music
- All levels are finishing note reading tests
- All levels will begin end of year performance tests on their instruments
- Once performance tests are completed, students will work to fine tune some skills they can continue to work on, on their own if they would like over the summer. Some suggestions will be made on what can be done over the summer if a student plans on practicing over the summer – suggestions of websites, music sights – free sheet music, etc.
- Lessons will finish up the last week of May, collection of all loaned instruments will begin this week and other materials as well.
