HS Assignments Week of 1/5/2009
We will be starting spring music in class. Be prepared for class with your Technique books - lots of work to be done.

All Holiday Music must be turned in or students will not receive their Spring Music for Class.
On Thursday this week we will be going to the Library to finish up our Word Hunt on Terms in Music.
Lesson Schedule was posted on the website, please check and refer to it.
Elementary School Assignments - Week of 1/5/09
Beginners will be having a review of the notes on the D and A strings this week.
New Assignment - slurs and notes on the G String
Intermediate students will be working in their books on new rhythms in their lesson books.
Next Week - they will be working on Spring music already.

When students return from break they will need to bring all holiday music to be turned in and filed away in our music library. If the music is not returned, the students will be charged a minimal fee for any music missing.
New music for the spring time will be handed out when they return in January.
Students should continue to practice over break - elementary in your books, middle school - continue working on scales and key signatures, HS work in High Tech for Strings books, scales, and the spring music you already have to practice.

Elementary - What to work on over break!!
Advanced students - work on reviewing all notes and making sure you know what you are reading in the music
- Working on advanced rhythms in the book - eighth notes, sixteenth notes, dotted rhythms, etc.
Beginners - you should know your notes on the D and A strings when you return - with note names, what string they are on, and what fingering goes with the note
- working on bowing and playing on the D and A strings
- working on new rhythms - eighth notes
HS Orchestra and String Technique Week of December 22nd
- Collecting Holiday music and handing out new music for the orchestra
- sight reading music
String Technique Class - Finish “Twas the Night Before Christmas” sound story project
Finish any benchmark testing that is due
MS Orchestra Assignments for Week of December 22nd
- continue working on the Word Hunt in the Library
Complete the definitions and then work on categorizing the terms
New music being handed out for the Spring Time
