HS Assignments 1st Week of Feb. and Week of Feb. 6th

Students are busy working on Spring music and learning the intonation for the music and rhythm. In class we are working on rhythms and how to break the parts down. Also, the students are working on a review of concepts they should know by HS.

New concept being learning is vibrato and how to do the motion to learn the technique.

Quartet rehearsals will begin in a couple weeks to start preparing music for the Spring.

We will be setting up some performances in the community at nursing homes and possibly some other venues for orchestra and the string quartet.

January Outlook for MS/ HS Orchestras

Ms – Students will be working on New Spring Music, working with the IPods to work on tuning instruments and counting skills, working on shifting

HS – Completing compositions, record music, and put projects together in Movie Maker. Students will begin working on Spring music and also continue to work on techniques skills.

All the orchestras did a wonderful job performing last evening, Tuesday, December 13th, for their Winter Concert. The flow of the evening went well between groups, the small ensembles did well performing without guidance and all of the orchestras did a wonderful job on their music. Don’t sweat the slight stage fright during the evening performance with one group, because this is and always be a learning experience to get you use to performing in front of others and enjoying being a part of a large ensemble.
