- beginners – reviewing holding of instrument and plucking on open D and A strings
- new – learning to use left hand on the D string and bow hold with the pencil
-2nd year/ advanced students – working in the beginning of book 2 – reviewing notes and concepts
- finishing concepts in book 1 not learned last year – last 2 strings of instruments and articulation marks in the music
