Dear Parents and Students:

I am ready for another exciting year with the Nazareth Area String Program. We have a very busy program year set for each level for music and learning of concepts. The two concerts this year will be combined concerts with the Elementary through the High School levels and will be at the High School, so stay tuned for more information about this later or look at the district calendar when you receive it.
My schedule has changed this year with where I can be reached at certain times of day. I will now be at the middle school first thing in the morning, then to elementary for a small frame of time, to the high school for 3rd block, then back to the elementary schools. I will run after school rehearsals at all three levels throughout the year, but I will be working on how to schedule every level over the next couple of weeks.
At all three levels this year, the students will receive a handbook/ course syllabus with information about the program/ course. Please make sure you read the information carefully and return the handbook/ course syllabus agreement form and return it to school on your second day of class.
The fundraisers for the middle and high school will be combined this year. I will be handing out a list of events and posting on the website calendar for you to view. It is important for students to get involved with the fundraising, it not only helps alleviate cost of trips they might go on, but it also helps to build up the funds in the general string account to purchase needed items for the students when the school budget does not provide the money to do so.
On another note, any student in 8th through 12th grade is eligible to try out for district orchestra. If you are planning on trying out, the music store does have the required audition piece of music and the pmea website has the required audition information listed. Please purchase the music and start learning the audition piece, I will have sessions to work with students interested in auditioning this year!
