Notice – No lessons this week for Shafer students due to no school for students on Thursday and Friday, due to the Professional Development Days for teachers.
Beginners
- Students are working in lesson books on slurs, dotted half notes, naturals or low fingers, and extended fingers, depending on assignments in books.
- Concert Music – practicing – Grasshopper Ball, Cabbage Countdown, Ode to Joy (in book), and Boogie in the Straw.
Intermediate and Advanced
- Students are working on flats, extended fingers, rhythms using dotted quarter and eighth notes connected to sixteenth or eighth notes, different key signatures, harder rhythm combinations.
- Students are working in shifting books to shift into 3rd position
- Students are working in repretoire books on individual solo pieces.
- Concert music – students should be practicing – Grasshopper Ball, Cabbage Countdown, Boogie in the Straw, Do-Re-Mi, and Wexford Circle.
