Beginners
- Students are busy working on duets in class to learn about melodies and harmonies
- Students are working on the C and E strings on their instruments
- Students are working on slurs, dotted half notes, upbeats, and D.C. al Fine.
- Concert music – should be practicing Grasshopper Ball, Ode to Joy, Cabbage Countdown, and Boogie in the Straw (Beginning until measure 32).
Intermdiate and Advanced
- Students are working on accidentals in their music (naturals and flats) – lowering their fingers for pitches on their instruments.
- Students are working on different bowing techniques and rhythms – sixteenth notes, dotted rhythms, etc.
- Students should be working on the following concert music – Cabbage Countdown, Grasshopper Ball, Boogie in the Straw and Do-Re-Mi.
- Advanced students should be working on their shifting exercises and Suzuki solo pieces.
Rehearsal Reminder Rehearsal on April 17, 2007 is from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Middle School in the Band Room, there are no more after school rehearsals. The remaining rehearsals for the concert are in the evening.
